Welcome to our Frayed Edges Internship Program, which enables the people of our community to receive counseling at a significantly reduced rate.

The counselors who staff this program are currently completing their internship as graduate students and are under the supervision of Jennifer Yaeger, Clinical Director of Sea Glass Therapy, and the faculty at their respective schools.

We are thrilled to be able to provide affordable therapy services for our community at a time when the stigma around counseling seems to be reducing as record numbers of people are seeking help.

To be seen by one of the interns in this program, simply indicate it in the forms filled out on the scheduling page.

Lauren believes in the power of a collaborative approach between the client and counselor with the goal of helping the client gain valuable insight to promote continued growth and development even after the counseling relationship has ended.

Rachel Forrister

Rachel is a graduate-level student who has a passion for helping individuals of all ages, couples, and families navigate the complexities of their relationships. She is passionate about working with adolescents and has received continuing education credentials in treating LGBTQ+ youths and their family systems.

She places great importance on creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can freely explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences. Her approach is founded on a blend of Experiential, Attachment-Based, and Narrative Family Therapy modalities, which she tailors to suit the specific needs and dynamics of each client. Drawing from systemic therapy's core tenets, Rachel views issues and challenges not as isolated occurrences, but as products of complex webs of interactions.

While working with individuals, Rachel collaborates to uncover personal strengths and develop strategies for managing challenges. When working with couples, she focuses on enhancing communication and intimacy, aiming to rekindle emotional connections. In family therapy, Rachel is dedicated to helping families create new narratives and patterns that support healthier relationships.
