ACUPUNCTURE

For many of us 21 st Century humans, it’s becoming harder and harder to handle daily life amidst this chaotic world we find ourselves in. The difficult circumstances we all increasingly face, especially those that seem beyond our control, can send stress levels soaring, taking a toll on physical, mental, and emotional health.

Acupuncture has been used for more than 3,000 years to treat an incredibly wide range of ailments, including chronic aches and pains, hormone imbalances, digestive complaints, fatigue, insomnia, depression and anxiety, and so much more. Most people who receive acupuncture leave their session very relaxed, with a heightened sense of well being. In the hours and days following treatment, many patients find increasing relief from their symptoms as the root of their health issue begins to fade away and the body finds balance.

Acupuncture Clinic FAQs

Prior to attending the first Acupuncture session, please review these FAQs and provide your electronic signature after reading the informed consent paragraph.

1. How should I dress for my acupuncture session?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the hands and arms below the elbows and to the feet and calves below the knees.

2. Should I bring anything with me to the session?

If you tend to feel cold, you are encouraged to bring a towel or small blanket. You are also welcome to bring headphones and listen to your own music. Everything else is provided.

3. Can children attend Acupuncture?

Young children (under 10) are not old enough to receive acupuncture. However, if your older children/adolescents are able to quietly participate, they are welcome!

4. How long will my session last?

Initial sessions last 2 hours for the acupuncturist to get all of your information. Follow up appointments last 1 hour and 15 minutes.

5. I am anxious about acupuncture because of the needles. Do they hurt?

You should experience very minimal discomfort when the acupuncture needles are inserted. You may feel a sensation you aren’t familiar with, which some people describe as “heavy,” “achy,” “full,” or “warm.”

6. How will I feel after an acupuncture treatment?

You should expect to feel very relaxed after your treatment. If you are seeking relief from a physical or emotional issue, the treatment can take a few days to achieve an effect.

7. Are you taking precautions to protect clients from COVID-19?

Yes. The equipment will be disinfected between each patient, and face masks will be worn by participants and practitioners; fully vaccinated clients need not wear a mask unless they choose to do so. Participants with symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to reschedule their appointment.

8. I have mobility issues. Will I be able to attend a Acupuncture session?

If you use a wheelchair, you are welcome to remain in your wheelchair for both the acupuncture and massage sessions. Those who do not use a wheelchair but have difficulty lying down for 15 minutes at a time or moving from a sitting to standing position might experience some discomfort during an Acupuncture session.
